Title: Forest Fire Risk Assessment

Speaker: Prof. Lino Coria

Lino Coria is an associate teaching professor at Northeastern University’s Khoury College of Computer Sciences, Vancouver campus, with a background in electrical and computer engineering, holding degrees from McMaster University and the University of British Columbia. With twenty years of experience spanning both industry and academia, Lino has made contributions to the fields of image processing and computer vision.

Abstract: In this talk, we will explore the integration of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) imagery with computer vision for forest fire risk assessment. This session will cover a study focused on developing a framework to identify tree types and their fire risks, using computer vision techniques. The approach enhances forest fire management by facilitating early detection and prevention strategies.
